Facebook is rebranding as Meta
Last week Facebook announced that Facebook Inc. will change name to Meta. The motivation for the new brand was that Meta better reflects the company vision of being a metaverse company with the ambition of blending together the real and digital world incorporating VR and AR to a greater extent in our everyday life. Good to point out though is that the old brands and products Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp etc will stay the same. However, one can’t help but wonder how much the Facebook scandals of recent years has affected the name change.
